A Father’s Influence
As a father of 2 little girls, I realize that I have a very large influence on the way that they view themselves and the confidence that they will have for their entire lives. I feel a large sense of responsibility to help them learn about the skills that they have and to help them learn something new everyday. I have decided to begin a blog about our journey as parents and specifically mine as a father and the influence that I have in their lives.
They are the Reason for Our Slogan
The slogan for our company is Inspire. Create. Learn. Childhood. We started using this slogan because it is everything we want for our girls. We want to inspire them to use their imaginations, we want them to have the freedom to be creative, we want them to learn about the gifts they have been created with, and we want to celebrate childhood. Starting this blog is a way for me to express how we want to take those concepts and put them into real life.
I can Just act like a Kid Again
I have realized that at the ages of 2 and 5, the easiest way for me to do this is to just act like a kid again (according to my wife, this shouldn’t be hard!). In the middle of stress and problems, I love to just forget about it all and let my imagination run wild. This summer we did this with bubbles.
One day Danielle was playing with the girls making some bubbles with a small handheld bubble blower. Letting my imagination run wild I said "I want more bubbles!" a small air compressor later and we were off to our biggest bubble party ever! We all had a blast that night learning how to make bubbles, popping them, making daddy look like Santa with a beard, and just generally forgetting about the stresses of life. Bubble parties are the best!
My Plan From Here
It is going to be hard work, but I am going to do a random activity like this every week with my girls and share it with everybody! I hope that we can be an inspiration to parents and that as the seasons of life happen to us all, it is a journey that we can take together!
